Darren Dugas has a healthy obsession with all things – well – healthy. Going from a 20-year-long nursing career to Co-owner of Black Dog Farm, he’s constantly exploring the latest organic farming trends. Just call him the Food Scientist of the farm. When he doesn’t have his hands in the dirt (or politely asking Oakley to leave some berries for clients), Darren can be found doing some hardcore XBox gaming and enjoying his wife’s top-botch cooking.

Plant Whisperer

Boots by day. Heels by night. Crystal Dugas isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty with all kinds of farm chaos. Co-owner of Black Dog Farm, she strongly believes in the connection between communities and food. Making her dream a reality, she’s more passionate about her farm’s purpose than anyone. When she’s not in the dirt, you can find her admiring her honeybee hives. She’s also a major Ozarks foodie, film enthusiast and can often be heard muttering Harry Potter spells.

The man. The legend. Second-generation black dog Oakley doesn’t mess around when it comes to farming. He has plenty of patience and even more energy when he hits the fields every morning. He embraced his special place on our small plot of land long ago and is happy to quite literally jump in wherever he’s needed (for treats, of course.)
